Our History

Founded in 1969 and always based on quality products being presented to customers.

Our Founder had worked in several Meat Shops and Grocery Stores where he grew tired of watching recipes change to either water down the product or cheapen it.

He had seen this done with some of his family recipes he shared with different butcher shops and felt the need to hang onto his recipes and not share them while saving his money to start his own company.

Our recipes do not change, and our ingredients are purchased from the same suppliers.

All of our products are made in very small batches like our hams; they are made one at a time.

All of our products are made by hand without robotics because quality is always at the top of the list.

Our Corned beef is made with simple ingredients with minimal pump for excellent real flavor not fake or overwhelmed with sodium.

We hold true to sourcing all of our products in Ohio and surrounding states. Nothing is purchased out of the USA.

Our pork bellies are sourced locally and are all hand rubbered and tumbled but never pumped with extra water. Our bacon comes out of the pan almost the way it went in with minimal shrinkage.

We still smoke all of our products in our original hickory wood fired smoke houses.

Our family of brands under Canal Fulton provisions are Darby’s (Raw and Cooked Corned Beef and Lunch Meats), Chubby Chicken (Marinated Breast Filets), Seymour Sausage (full sausage line of both Smoked and Raw), Tommy Boy Turkey (Smoked Whole Turkeys),

Abraham (Bacon and Hams), and of course our CFP label that includes our Beef Bacon, Snack Sticks, Burgers and all our fresh cuts of Steaks, Chops, Roasts and we also do some private labeling for customers who demand quality.

Our tradition continues as we grow but never waiver from our humble beginnings because our recipes and quality standards are more sacred now than ever.

Bob Tomczak, our current President and Owner says, “Quality and Doing Things Right never go out of style”.
